the problem with creating the next Friends is Gen Y and the next one are not necessarily appointment television watchers

a lot of the successful procedurals on CBS do crazy numbers in the ratings but nobody really cares much cause it's older people watching
i don't know that you could create a show for the 18-35 demo, who DVR, stream online, torrent etc. that is going to capture the same numbers all at one time per week
