As far as big players, there was NBC, CBS and ABC then. Now, Fox has been added.

You miss the point. Just because Nielsen does not count does not mean people are not watching the other 200 shows on then. -- nm

If the audience splinters, you'll still have a #1. Which is 2.5 Men, then BBT, then Modern Family.
