field marshal tantawi has any desire to push mubarak along. they're old, old friends. the military has already released a statement today that the protesters should go home. the rank and file may feel differently, but we'll see. mostly so far today it seems to be that the army has totally fallen into line. i think mubarak will be pushed out ultimately what with the scale of the protests, but if it's just that another of the old guard take over, very little will ultimately change.
