They could have started by at least appearing to have some clue what was actually going on over there.

The CIA director going on TV and just parroting what he'd heard in the media was just plain embarrassing. I don't expect them to actually have much control over how things turn out, but I'd like to think they could at least pretend to know more than CNN and present a semi-consistent and coherent message.
