Maybe not a good thing, but they may think it's a "good enough" thing.

In countries like America there are a lot of institutions that people (broadly) trust - the President, Congress, the courts, police, the military, the FBI, regulators of things like safety and the environment, and so on. Even with the general American scepticism about government (compared to, say, Europe) and a very vocal anti-government minority - Tea Partiers, libertarians, etc, you still have over 200 years of history where democracy has been used in (more or less) the right way.
In countries like Egypt, not so much - their experience of democracy is very different from ours.
