When I went to fund raiser auctions, collections of old wines were usually the highest over bids, people offering 30-50 per by the mixed case

so a half dozen or so could rack up a decent donation to a worthy cause.

but few wines are made for long term storage, these are usually the top dollar ones to begin with,

try this, google the name of the wine + points and see if any are listed as scoring high (90 or more) and then you know you have something, even if its not the same year, they tend to be within a point, maybe two year after year. so if you see something taht says 91 points from wine spectator or wine advocate (aka parker points) then you could hope the worst yours would be is an 89
