he was giving up 40lbs and 4 inches to Silva. Too much to overcome... he got whipped bad once he was stuck on his back in the 2nd round. He said after the fight he's probably retiring.
It's the right move. These days the younger guys are just too big, strong, and skilled for him to keep dominating as an aging fighter. He's still a more complete fighter than any of them though.
Right now, you'd have to say Overeem is the top heavyweight in the world.
