so my mom's house blew up, yeah? and her best friend/worst enemy organized this "benefit" for her. I heard about the benefit through the grapevine in february, but only in a "save the date" kind of way. I never heard any details. I assumed we'd all get together, bring food, donate stuff, have fun. like my mom would want.

but no. mary (the frenemy) organized this bullshit thing to which we needed to purchase tickets. there were a limited number of tickets available because of venue size, and because my mom is pretty popular, the venue made it clear that no ticket/no entry.

mary never emailed or rang ann or myself to tell us that tickets were on sale. that we needed them. anything.

ann bought a plane ticket to come in for this event, and mary is like, sorry, you should have acted faster in buying your ticket! you should have made sure I had your email addresses and phone numbers!

1) this thing is not a surprise. she could have asked joyce for our contact info. BUT
2) I am on mary's spam list. I get no less than ten emails per week from her with "a blessing just for you" and "20 reasons men suck." so there's no excuse.

sash is giving ann the ticket that karen bought for her, but I'm not going. I bet there'll be cake, too!
