the reality of global supply chains means essentially that all sorts of aholes all over the world will get your money anyhow....

sure, if you buy a north american car it'll likely be ultimately snapped together here and the point of sale will be american. but the parts for that car will have come from all over the globe in the first place, so you're already spreading your money all over the world regardless.
