How do you know if you have bronchitis?

I explode into convulsions of coughing at random intervals, but I don't have any trouble breathing and no rattling sounds in my chest that I know of.

Plus, of course, the thick mucus that keeps coming up despite the fact that I don't have a runny nose is a point of concern. Where's this crap coming from?

P.S. Let's face it, I'm going to urgent care tomorrow for an x-ray.
