So, here's the big project I'm working on. And you can help.

The name of our project is WTFysics. Its goal is to present science (esp. physics) in a funny and interesting way, to serve as a springboard for people to get more interested in the way they see the world around them. We've applied for funding for the project and will probably hear back soon, but we're going to go ahead regardless.

The centerpiece of this project is a series of short web videos. They'll be released as a podcast and on YouTube. Think Tosh.0 meets RadioLab (if you know what that is). The video MDH posted of the guy jumping into a 1-foot-deep pool yesterday is a perfect example.

In addition, we'll have Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well as a website on which to host more content (mostly for teachers). The FB account is coming along, but we've already got the twitter account up and running. Follow us at @whatthefysics. When we get the podcast going, subscribe to it. Like us on Facebook when that's ready. And share it. Make us viral. Be part of the beginning of something that I think can actually be pretty cool. It'll take a while to get up and running, but once we do it'll be worth it.
