Ask yourself who's bigger.
Just give baby some tylenol drops and put him back in the crib. Crying never hurt any baby, so if you constantly pick them up every time they cry, they've succeeded in manipulating you. Believe me, they learn this early. How you respond to it now sets the stage for the next couple of years. It takes 3 nights, on average, of crying most of the night for them to learn how to put themselves back to sleep. It's hell on the parents, but necessary if you ever want to do things in the evening or sleep.
The most common method is to let baby cry for 15 minutes, then walk to the crib without the lights on and rub his back and tell him to go back to sleep. Dont play with him or anything. After doing this 3-4 times, just stay at the door and tell him it's all right, go back to sleep. After 3 nights of this method, he should be sleeping through the night. It sounds brutal, but it's the number one pediatrician method for getting babies to sleep through the night.
