what really got me - spoils

yes, I ultimately realize it is a business but last night was product placement on a level that almost damn near ruined the show
I especially didn't like the fact that they couldn't even take their knives. Chefs knives are a personal extension of their body, its why Padma says "pack up your knives"
and the only time they could use Target was the middle of the night
so the contestants were dog tired and not thinking straight, the judges were tired, it was exhausting for them all
also, I watch Ming Tsai every weekend now. On his show he pairs a western ingredient with an Asian ingredient. I thought the use of him as a judge was just wasted, I'd rather have seen them do a challenge along the lines of Ming's show. But no, that opportunity was sacrificed to product placement as well.
I could rant further, but I bet you understand I hated that particular product placement
