This comes up every time, but the fact that this cost is taken for granted just for insurance that might pay for health care is an incredible sign

That's $18,000 a year....I'd have to pay about 70% sales tax on applicable items to reach that point a year.

No, but you live in Alberta, which doesn't have a provincial portion. Betcha many Canadians households in the 12% or more provinces get there.

Yeah, very few would ever hit $18,000 per household. That was my bad. However, most services get hit. Clothes. Cars. New homes.

not everything. and it varies by province. but generally things like groceries, no tax, resale houses, no tax, some places kids clothes, no tax. -- nm
