What's taxed there? Mortgage....rent.....anything that is a transaction?

18000 a year is the equivalent here in COBRA costs...if you pay 15% tax on every dollar you spend, you'd need to transact, $120k in material.
That's a lot of money.

Yeah, very few would ever hit $18,000 per household. That was my bad. However, most services get hit. Clothes. Cars. New homes.

not everything. and it varies by province. but generally things like groceries, no tax, resale houses, no tax, some places kids clothes, no tax. -- nm
