Looking over some of these graphs (esp. the "Winner Takes All" one) it's interesting to consider who was president during the major swings.

There are obviously a lot of factors at play here. But considering how much the Dems like to position themselves as looking out for the little guy, one of the biggest swings in the rich getting richer took place during Clinton's second term. The numbers during Bush II's term are largely impacted by 9/11. Reagen's term shows a really big upswing for the wealthy but then eases off in the last 2 years or so.

I don't know what it all means, but it's interesting.
