I too was beginning to think he might win. He did, however, narrowly avoid elimination twice. That's the only thing that prevents this from being a total shock.
The best performer this season has been eliminated. That's disappointing in terms of how I wanted the finale to play out. It was really looking like the most consistent chefs this season would all make the end.
