Rather appropriately, if you're a big fan of unions and their tactics, 'going on strike' isn't going to seem that unnatural or abhorrent.

I'm not, so I don't, but like I said on B2, I could imagine defending such a tactic (as an absolute last resort) in a different situation.
That being said, it is very hard to imagine and I'm not convinced that the fleeing politicians are, as you or Stephen said, are doing anything but delaying the inevitable here. i.e., wasting time and taxpayer dollars to make a statement.
