In a reversal, the IRS has decided to allow women to use money set aside in pretax spending accounts to buy breast pumps and related equipment, which can cost several hundred dollars. Previously, the IRS considered breast pumps to be feeding equipment, not medical devices. The changes affects expenses incurred starting in 2010.
