sad yet interesting: a large hotel in Christchurch may still fall and they are worried about the shockwaves:

"Parker said the fate of Hotel Grand Chancellor was concerning.

The problem the problem is that its foundation has obviously failed now, the building yesterday afternoon, I was just down the road, the thing moved around 1 and a half to 2 meters in about ten minutes, incredibly dangerous. This is a massive building, it is a huge weight, if it comes down it is going to damage buildings within a couple of blocks, but more than that when it hits the ground, it will create a significant shock wave. So what we have to do, that is why we moved a lot of people right out of that area, Parker added at the interview."
