he's a nervous wreck. He goes in on Monday.
I found out a little more - they are taking 1/3 to 1/2 of his tongue, and only reconstructing enough of it so he can speak properly and so it can do whatever functions it needs to do. He's really upset and worried about what is going to happen - can't say I blame him. I wouldn't be excited about all that surgery and a trach tube. Hopefully all will go well.
