A) Since it's just sitting on top and the table doesn't actually surround it I think it would be ok if the TV hung over some.
B) Keep in mind that TVs are measured on the diagonal and those stands are just being measured horizontally.

I was thinking more about future upgrades with that. If you got a bigger TV in the future it's not like it wouldn't fit on the smaller one. -- nm
