Locker had a good day while Newton had an off day. Scouts get fired if they read too much into the combine for that very reason. What everyone who evaluates personnel is taking away from the combine is that unlike most top 10 QB prospects over the past 10 years, Newton worked out. And his workouts were spectacular. They're not going to read too much into the fact that he got rushed on his mechanics on three straight passes. Instead, they're going to look at his film again and remind themselves that he completed two thirds of his passes at a rate of a first down per attempt. And they're going to look at his off the charts measurables and see a rare talent at the QB position.
I'm not saying Carolina won't mess this up, because they're Carolina, but what Newton did today was a win on the whole.
