I just talked to my 88 year old grand-aunt and asked what her earliest memories of going to the movies were.

She said her favorite was Shirley Temple, also William Powell, and the Our Gang bits that played before the movies started. They paid 10 cents for a ticket.

"What do you guys pay now, about five bucks I guess."
"It's about eleven dollars these days. And you can pay as much for popcorn and soda."
"Oh my!"
