What I take from this is that I like a tighter show better in theory, but the one last night was deadly dull. It didn't help any that most of the major categories had been a foregone conclusion the day the awards were announced. I would have gotten 8 out of 9 of the majors (9 out of 10 if we count Foreign Language) that morning. Nothing ever changed.
