That's still, IMO, unreasonable. No one is even alive who saw Shakespeare perform and just saying the names Romeo and Juliet

bring to mind the tragedy of star crossed lovers.
It's culture. It's out there and has become shorthand for describing events and situations.
I've never seen Citizen Kane, but understand the significance of Rosebud culturally. It's that culturally ingrained.
If someone said they were going to sit down and watch CK for the first time I certainly wouldn't tell them anything about it and simply say "enjoy."
But if I'm having a general conversation and the meaning of Rosebud has significance the onus shouldn't be on me to bite my tongue but on those not wanting to be spoiled to cover their ears.
The statute of limitations for spoiling CK has long passed.
