In response to "Spoiler etiquette: there is always someone who hasn't seen a movie/TV show, read a book etc. Just common courtesy imo -- nm" by Beaker

I'm all for courteous, but our spoiler rules are admittedly nonsensical.

Live sports are open game for spoilers, but scripted tv is not. Yet anyone who has tivo'd a sporting event is about a thousand times more spoiled that someone who hears the ending of a scripted program.

This isn't to say we shouldn't talk about sports live, but merely to highlight the inconsistency.
