I wouldn't lump Killzone with first person shooters. I've been playing FPS since Doom and Killzone was different.

Killzone is more of a combat simulator along the lines of Call of Duty and Modern Warfare (maybe even Gears of War - I'm not sure). First person shooters are like Doom, Quake, Unreal and Halo. Much more arcade-y.
