One of my most vivid retail memories is from the day after xmas at the Target in Greeley, CO.

standing at the front of the store and watching them unlock the doors and then people walking about 20 feet inside, looking at each other hesitantly, and then suddenly sprinting to the seasonal department for all the 50% off stuff.
It's probably worse with the Wal-mart Black Friday stuff, but I wasn't working when they started doing that crazy like now.
