Anything that is a battle of wills gives him a better chance. In terms of mental acuity and physical strength, he's always been a below average competitor.
I will say this. I think it's interesting that TMZ cut a deal with the spoilers guy immediately rather than waiting until the end of the year. I would think that they save those until the time when they do the most damage unless Russell doesn't go very far in the game. I am only blindly speculating as someone who avoids spoilers like the plague, but if Russell made it to the end of the game, those letters should be saved until May. The fact that they were posted in February made me fairly confident his presence in this game is short lived.
