when i flew from haneda up to the north we were waiting for our plane and they kept making some sort of announcements in japanese. a couple minutes later one of the airline people came over and explained to my girlfriend + I in english that there were storms in the north and our flight might get delayed. I was totally blown away that they picked us out and sent someone over to convey in a non-native language just exavctly what the deal was. i guess i'm just totally used to being left floundering for any info at all at your average american airport...
