We were having dinner and catching up and he asked what my student was majoring in. When I said Computer Programming, he said he could hire him and to sell him on the guy's merits. Other than being smart, I couldn't think of any. The guy is lazy, underachieving, and undependable. After an awkward silence, I recovered by saying he was probably going home to Oregon for the summer.

This pretty much tells me that the kid's time at my place is not going to continue for long. I'd rather have somebody who works hard and studies who is trying to make something of themself than somebody who just wants to sleep late and play video games all night.
