I think he's saying he's not Catholic or Protestant (hence the Taoist) so he doesn't wear either color?

i don't know about the Taoist part, but the the orange and green mean something in Northern Ireland. -- nm

Green = Republic of Ireland, Catholic majority. Orange = Northern Ireland, Protestant/British majority.
