I mean, it's pretty rare that you know a lot of the guests. There are all ages there, so some people are stuck watching the kids while some people are having fun and some people are disapproving of the people having fun. And all the "stuff", the ceremony, toasts, speeches, dances, cake--it just goes on.
I know it's important and meaningful to the wedding party and people close to them. I just don't like to go to those weddings where you are a layer or two removed.
If I want to go to a big, fancy party, I'd rather just book a great NYE with good friends or something.
