Yeah, I got a parenting book for Christmas that advocates sending the kid(s) to play alone right after everyone gets home in the evenings.

Even for parents who both work all day. Send the kid(s) to play by themselves and put some time in on the MARRIAGE.
Makes sense, but there's definitely an instinct to overcome that us working parents are supposed to funnel every spare second into parenting those kids who have been at school/daycare all day.
