I've noticed a lot of blog types pages loading slower and slower over the last few months... finally figured out why

The links to social media API's. The stupid things that say 200 People like this, or 100 have tweeted this, etc.

Install WidgetBlock for chrome and the default settings will block all of that junk. Then the pages load *much* faster.
